Hawai‘i Community Foundation Works to Align Goals, Form Partnerships

Although being a leader in philanthropy has been challenging for many in recent months due to Covid-19’s impact on the economy, Darcie Yukimura, the newly appointed vice president of philanthropy for Hawaii Community Foundation, said that “it’s hard to have a bad day” in her line of work.

Hawai‘i Community Foundation quickly responded to the pandemic in mid-March with the implementation of the Hawaii Resilience Fund to provide resources to nonprofits and health care providers. Since its launch, the fund has collected $12 million in donations, quadrupling its initial startup amount of $3 million.
