Hawaiian Electric Co. Looking to Add More Public EV Chargers in 2021 and Beyond

Hawaiian Electric Co. has announced plans to add to its recent rollout of seven DC fast chargers for electric vehicles.

Currently, HECO has 25 publicly available stations within its territory and four more fast chargers are expected by the end of 2021, HECO Director of Electrification of Transportation Aki Marceau told Pacific Business News this week. She said that all of the company's available chargers are part of a pilot program and that approval is being sought from the Public Utilities Commission to construct more as a permanent program.
