American Savings Bank's annual employee-driven Kahiau Giving Campaign raised a total of $360,708 for nine local nonprofits this year. The theme of the 2021 drive was "we're all in this together" and it generated $210,708 from ASB employees — 95% of whom participated — plus an additional $150,000 from the bank itself, ASB announced on Tuesday.
“Our local nonprofits across the state have been crucial in providing much-needed services to our community throughout the pandemic and we are thrilled to be able to support them during these challenging times,” said Ann Teranishi, ASB's new president and CEO, in a statement. “I am so proud of our teammates for grabbing their paddles and giving from their hearts so that our nonprofit partners can continue their life-changing work.”
