ASB Honors Late CEO with $100K Gift to Child & Family Service Fund

American Savings Bank recently made a gift in memory of former CEO Wayne Minami of $100,000 to Child & Family Service's Stronger Families Fund, which Minami and his wife, Colleen Minami, helped to establish in 2014 through a lead pledge of the first $100,000.

After Minami died, ASB looked for a way to honor him. “There's no better way to honor Wayne than to continue that legacy of contributing to CFS’s Stronger Families Fund,” Beth Whitehead, ASB executive vice president and chief administrative officer, told Pacific Business News in an interview.

Minami retired from ASB in 2001 after 14 years of service; Whitehead said when she started at ASB in 2008, people still talked about Minami daily.
