Robert “Bob” Bruhl has been named chief investment officer and executive vice president of Island Holdings, Inc.

The Hawaii-based company invests in the long-term well-being and future of Hawaii with a portfolio that includes insurance products and services, technology consulting, and private equity and real estate investment.

In this position, Bruhl – who most recently served as president of DR Horton Hawaii, where he worked for 18 years – oversees the Island Holdings’ treasury portfolio and will be responsible for optimizing current investments, refining investment strategies and initiatives, and identifying opportunities for both long- and short-term growth, the company said in an announcement.
