More than half of the state's population already received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. For whatever reason, others have made the choice to not get vaccinated. The University of Hawai‘i is taking steps to make it a requirement for all students and in some circles, there's talk of business owners making vaccination mandatory for all employees.
Some question whether or not it's legal. Because of recommendations from the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, it is legal, employers are allowed to make receiving shot mandatory.
