State Department of Land and Natural Resources leadership is set to change in July upon the retirement of Dawn Chang, the agency’s director who went on medical leave in December.
Gov. Josh Green on Monday announced that Ryan Kanaka‘ole, DLNR’s acting director, will succeed Chang effective July 1.
Kanaka‘ole stepped into the acting position in December after two years as deputy director. DLNR’s new deputy director will be David Day, a special assistant to the state Attorney General who will assume his new position effective July 7, according to Green.
