Tammi Oyadomari‑Chun oversees five statewide offices and supports operations for 258 public schools and more than 22,000 employees at the Hawai‘i State Department of Education.

Her role includes directing strategy, fiscal services, talent management, communications and Hawaiian education. Following the Maui wildfires, she helped secure $20 million in emergency funding and coordinated the Lahaina Teacher Housing Project, creating 47 housing units to support educator retention during recovery. She also helped complete the University of Hawai‘i Direct2UH program, which provides automatic admission to nine UH campuses based on students’ GPAs to expand access to higher education.
