The Hawaiʻi Government IT Leadership Program Pilot (HGITLP) addresses Hawaiʻi's need for skilled IT leaders to manage digital transformation, enhance cybersecurity, and modernize state systems across state government. By embedding the spirit of ALOHA and fostering strategic thinking, communication, and collaboration, the program strengthens IT leadership capabilities, improves public trust, and optimizes technology investments. The program seeks to prepare government IT leaders to drive efficient, responsive government services while ensuring Hawaiʻi's IT infrastructure evolves to meet current and future needs of Hawaiʻi's people.
This project connects students, academia, and industry in a meaningful way, so that students in Hawaiʻi can find work in Hawaiʻi, thereby helping to mitigate the brain drain.
